Erik Spiekermann is a German typographer who founded MetaDesign, which grew into Germany's largest design firm. He is a professor at the University of the Arts Bremen. In 1989 he and his wife, Joan Spiekermann, started FontShop. He has created various fonts such as the popular FF Meta. He is also the author of the must read book for any designer Stop Stealing Sheep & Find Out How Type Works. He was featured in the Helvetica film.
